9/11 Remembrance Ceremony in Clayton
Contra Costa County Fire will be holding a ceremony to mark the 15-year anniversary of Sept 11th this Sunday at 10:00am.
The community is invited to attend. Seating is limited to disabled and elderly.
The ceremony will be held on the front ramp of Contra Costa County Fire Station 11, located at 6500 Center Street, Clayton.
The 30-minute ceremony will include posting of the colors on the flag pole by the United Professional Fire Fighters Local 1230 honor guard.
There will also be a special final alarm bell ceremony by the honor guard. There will be a fire department bag piper presenting a special song.
Speakers will include: the vice mayor of the city of Clayton Jim Diaz, Fire Chief Jeff Carman of Contra Costa County Fire and Clayton Police Chief Chris Wenzel.
The public is invited to meet the Police officers, Firefighters and tour their vehicles and station after the ceremony.
Event is complete at 12:00pm.
The Ceremony will mark the 15 year anniversary of Sept 11th 2001, and pay tribute to the 343 fire fighters and 72+ police officers who died that day and in the following years.
