Local Fire Agencies Assisting with Texas Flooding Rescue Operations
This past weekend firefighters and other emergency personnel from across the State of California were activated within their CA US&R Teams to respond and assist with the rescue efforts in Texas. In all, eight CA US&R Teams were activated and are now deployed in Texas.
Locally, California US&R Task Force 4 (CA-TF4), based out of the Oakland Fire Department arrived in Texas last night and is now operating in the Houston Area. CA US&R Task Force 4 includes members locally from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and the Moraga-Orinda Fire District. There are no estimates on when these teams are expected to return home but are expected to be assisting with rescue operations for the forseeable future.
Please keep the residents of Houston and surrounding communities in your thoughts and prayers as we do for all members in each of the FEMA Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) teams deployed currently.
