Public Open House at CCCFPD Station 11

new_cccfpd_logo_smallhighresClayton, CA –The Clayton community is invited to welcome back the crews of Station 11 with an open house held on Saturday, January 31, 2014 from 11am – 2pm. The event is being sponsored by the Clayton Business and Community Association, Republic Services and the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 1230.

The event will kick off with the Fire District and local Scouts Honor Guards raising the flag, followed by short remarks from local elected and other officials, followed by the open house and BBQ. There will also be information on Fire Safety, Bicycle Safety, Child Finger Printing, first aid/CPR, and Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT).

During the budget crisis, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was forced to shutter the station until budgetary times improved. With Contra Costa Fire obtaining a Federal SAFER Grant, the district was able to open the station sooner than originally anticipated.

“Contra Costa Fire is pleased to be reopening the station in Clayton” says Fire Chief Jeff Carman. “With this opening, we begin strategically rebuilding the organization, providing much needed services to the communities we serve.”

Station #11 is located at the corner of Clayton Road and Center Street in Clayton. Please note that Center Street immediately in front of the Fire Station will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event.

The station itself will re-open on January 16th, with the open house occurring on January 31st.
