Celebration of Life for Rodney Bruce, Retired CCCFPD Captain

rod bruce image lowresRodney Bruce was born on March 23, 1953 and died of a sudden heart attack on November 8, 2018 while doing one of his favorite past times as a retiree; hanging out with friends.  Rodney better know as “Rod” was a resident of Brentwood Ca when he passed but was a long standing resident of Martinez, California. Rod graduated from Alhambra High School and began a career with Contra Costa County Fire Protection District shortly after in 1976.  Rod promoted through the ranks spending over 20 years at station 13 serving the community he loved and lived in.  Rod retired in November of 2008 at the rank of captain. Rod was known as a role model and a mentor to people of all ages in the fire department and the community.  Rod always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends camping and traveling the world.  Rod is survived by his beloved wife Deborah, his mother Shirley, and three children and their spouses, Drake and Shannon, Dylan and Jessica, Savanah and Ryan.  His spirit will always live on through his grandchildren Jake, Melody, Berrick, Maddox and Maverick.
