Every year during the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community, are honored. This week-long event, initially set up in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office in California, is a time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public. Humanity At Its Finest...

While shopping for food at Safeway today in Concord (1/7/14), a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Fire Crew were called to a medical emergency. The fire crew had to leave their groceries at the check stand and go. The fire crew subsequently responded to 2 more medical emergencies after that. Thank You To All Who Helped Us Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October

The month of October was National Breast Cancer Awareness month and the United Professional Firefighters of Contra Costa County Local 1230 teamed up with the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) to participate in the "Passionately Pink for the Cure." Firefighters from Local 1230 raised over $3300 for this cause by purchasing and selling "Pink" tee shirts. The tee shirts were worn throughout the month of October all over Contra Costa County.
